Pussy Willow by Judith Moody

PUSSY WILLOW

Fluffy, fleecy, grey as evening

Soft as velvet I’m believing

Children’s cheers you are achieving

Darling pussy willow

Dance along a branch of brown

February’s downy crown

Turning winter upside down

Dear, sweet pussy willow

Long dark weeks I wait for you

Snow is old but crocus new

Harbinger of spring so true

Lovely pussy willow

After winter’s blast so frightful

Puff of silver, so delightful

Bringing me my longed-for eyeful

Precious pussy willow
